Project Team Members Enjoy Physics Fun Day

Knotts Berry Farm Physics Fun Day At the annual Physics Fun Day at Knott's Berry Farm amusement park, local students were invited to develop their own accelerometers that could be tested on the drop tower. Arvid Croonquist and Don Langford of the JPL Low Temperature Microgravity Physics Facility project team helped the young students to test their devices. The photo shows Arvid Croonquist showing a young scientist how to mount his experiment. Team members also used the drop tower's display devices to demonstrate, for example, the effects of microgravity on flows of fluids in devices such as the toy seen at Arvid's elbow in the picture. Good weather provided a large turnout at the Physics Fun Day event this year.
