W. Ketterle of MIT gave an invited talk titled "When coherent light interacts with
coherent atoms - optical properties of Bose-Einstein condensates" at the Quantum
Electronics and Laser Science Conference (QELS 2000) in San Francisco.
Johnny Vogels, another member of the MIT Laser Cooled Atomic Physics group,
presented a paper to QELS 2000 entitled "Dipole forces, excitations and dissipation
in Bose-Einstein condensates."
Also, S. Inouye gave a contributed talk at the QELS meeting titled "Observation
of phase coherent amplification of matter waves."
And finally, A.P. Chikkatur of Ketterles group had a post-deadline paper on
titled "Suppression and enhancement of impurity scattering in a
Bose-Einstein condensate."
