Critical Point Research Leads to Publications
Don Jacobs, professor of physics at The College of Wooster and principal investigator on a
NASA Fundamental Physics grant, recently published two journal articles in The Journal of
Chemical Physics.
One resulted from a collaboration with Prof. Sandra Greer and her students at the University
of Maryland at College Park:
Krishna Pendyala, S.C. Greer, and D.T. Jacobs, "Poly(a-methylstyrene) in methylcyclohexane:
densities and viscosities near the liquid-liquid critical point" J. Chem. Phys. 115, 9995-10000
(2001).
The other was from collaborations with an undergraduate student and a faculty colleague at
The College of Wooster:
Christine Rauch, Shila Garg, and D.T. Jacobs, "Phase transitions in a nematic binary mixture"
J. Chem. Phys. 116, 2213-2218 (2002).
