TEPEE Group Presents Analysis of Equivalence Principle Instrument
Enrico Lorenzini of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory reports that the paper
"Analysis of effects of initial conditions and physical parameters in a differential
accelerometer modeled as a multi-body system" with authors G. Parzianello,
E.C. Lorenzini, I.I. Shapiro, M.L. Cosmo, V. Iafolla and S. Nozzoli, was presented
at the 54th International Astronautical Congress in Bremen, Germany. The paper will
be published in the conference proceedings.
The paper presents a dynamics analysis of the instrument package and the differential
accelerometer with its two sensing masses. The evaluation of the effects of the system
motion on the instrument differential output leads to the selection of the elastic
characteristics of the detector and the inertia characteristics of the instrument package.
